Salomon Raphael Salfeld was born in Stadthagen in 1827, the son of Raphael Salomon Salfeld and his wife Jette, née Herz. He was the eighth of nine children. On his mother"s side, the family went back to the Alexander family from Bleckede.
Salomon came to Lüneburg as an apprentice around 1842. He died very young, not even twenty years old, of a “nervous illness”, as the synagogue congregation"s death register recorded. Salomon Raphael Salfeld was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Lüneburg.
