Wife of Mendel Meyer [*1821]
Regine Meyer, née Tachau, was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Lüneburg in 1893. She was 49 1/2 years old. The synagogue community"s death register notes that she was the second wife of the late Mendel Meyer. His first wife had died in 1879.
There is no other record of this second marriage in Lüneburg. Still, it appears that Mendel Meyer, a widower with teenage children, remarried in the early 1880s. The couple did not have many years together: Mendel Meyer died in 1888, leaving Regine a widow. She died in 1893 and was buried, like Mendel Meyer, in the Jewish cemetery in Lüneburg.
