Sara de Lemos came from a long-established Hamburg Sephardic family. She died of a heart attack in Lüneburg in 1874 and was buried in the town"s Jewish cemetery. “The unmarried de Lemos was visiting here with Mrs. von Laffert”, is all the information available in the list of deaths of the Lüneburg synagogue congregation. This probably refers to the widow von Laffert who had been married to a major in the army, living at Am Sande 49 in Lüneburg.
