Meyer Dann was a Russian prisoner of war who died in June 1917 in a Lüneburg military hospital (sanatorium). According to the synagogue community"s death register, he came from “Wilkowski Suwalki” – possibly referring to the town of Wylkowiszki (Lithuanian: Vilkaviskis) in East Prussia, which had a very large Jewish community. Meyer Dann was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Lüneburg.
