Ida Auguste was the fourth child of Jette Salomon, née Isenstein, and Moritz Salomon. She was born in Lüneburg in November 1847. Shortly after Ida"s birth, her mother died. Her father married again. In 1851, Ida"s stepmother also died.
Ida"s own life was very short: in March 1852, shortly after her father Moritz Salomon had married a third time, little Ida Auguste Salomon died of “nervous fever” (i.e. typhus) and was buried in the Jewish cemetery.
