Helene Leah Salomon was born in Lüneburg in 1846. She was the fourth child and of merchant and tanner Simon Salomon and his wife Sophie, née van Biema.
Helene died far too early, just over a month after her birth; the synagogue congregation"s register of deaths states the cause of death as “wound cramp” (possibly tetanus). She was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Lüneburg.
