Isaak Joseph Jonasson family (1860-1894)
Martin Jonasson was born in Lüneburg in 1858. He was the third of six sons of merchant Isaak Joseph Jonasson and his wife Caroline, née Hammerschlag. Martin grew up with his siblings in Lüneburg in the large house on Am Markt, where his father"s business was also located. He probably became a merchant like his father.
Martin Jonasson died in Lüneburg in 1879 of an “internal illness,” as noted in the synagogue"s death register. He was buried in the city"s Jewish cemetery.
